Program Objectives

  • Expand their perspectives, realize their potential, and build character.

Program Components

Workshop Sessions

In the words of Albert Einstein, “If you cannot explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” WGF workshops are structured to introduce complex topics in common sense ways, then reinforce that understanding through group activities and project based learning.

Professional Presentations & Writing Assignments

One of the most essential, but often neglected, skills young people will need in their future success is communication; written, verbal, and in front of an audience. Each week the interns complete an essay and a presentation based on relevant topics. Their papers are edited and revised, while the presentations are critiqued as a group.

Behind the Biz Field Trips

The WesGold Fellows are granted an insider’s view to some of the region’s most successful and well-known companies. More than just a tour of facilities, they get to understand their unique business model and connect with influential professionals.

Community Service Event

The mission is to instill a sense of personal responsibility for our community and the people within it. WesGold Fellows are trained to have a Lift as You Climb” mentality, with an emphasis on helping others and creating opportunities to positively impact where they call home.
